Sifu Devon Ffrench
Sifu Devon's interest in the martial arts was triggered by a martial arts show called 'Kung Fu' starring David Carradine. It was the philosophy behind kung fu that captured his attention. He was introduced to phor kune one day by accompanying a friend who was going to watch a training session. Sifu Devon was hooked and joined. This was the summer of 1974, a year after Bruce Lee made it big in the West with 'Enter The Dragon'.

Sifu Devon's interest in meditation peaked after practicing everyday for 3 years in achieving the state of 'No Mind' or Mindlessness. Contrary to popular belief it is not a zombie-like state. In fact it is very much the opposite.

At university he studied Control and Computer Engineering. During this three year period he tried his feet at Tae Kwon Do and his hand at Jujitsu. At no time did Sifu Devon stop training Phor Kune, his first love in martial arts. Sifu Devon is currently a 6th Degree Black Sash. His moto "practice
makes permanent".

Sifu Nigel DuCasse/Kung Fu Surrey
Sifu Nigel DuCasse
Sifu Nigel began training in the Art of Phor Kune Kung Fu on 6th March 1976. After trying other styles he was introduced to this style from a friend who was already studying under Grand Master Jeremy Chin.

Sifu Nigel had from a very early age learnt to box from his father who was a champion amateur boxer. What drew him to Phor Kune Kung Fu was the amazing ability of Grand Master Chin but also to the fact that he did not try to mystify what he was teaching. Sifu Nigel found Grand Master Jeremy Chin a profound and intellectual guide and Sifu; not just in training but also in life skills.

Sifu Nigel is currently a 5th Degree Black Sash. He is also a qualified Men's Artistic Gymnastics Club Coach. After more than thirty years of studying and teaching Phor Kune Kung Fu, Sifu Nigel still has the enthusiasm he had for the style when he had his first lesson.
